FTF UNIVERSE: EPISODE II

CASCADE COLLAPSE

LOCATION: Cascade Road Corridor – Southwest Atlanta

ENTITY: SHINKURO

PHASE: Form II – The Cracked Truth

EVENT TAG: The Echo Surge

REPORT AUTHOR: Dr. K. Nevarez, FTF Rift Taxonomy Division

[OPENING SCENE]

Cascade Road used to be a memory lane.

Church bells. Distant lawn mowers. The kind of neighborhood where Sundays still meant something.

That changed after The Fourth Fold.

The air shifted.

Not cold. Not hot. Just… off.

Phones froze at 3:17 AM. Cars refused to start. Every streetlight flickered in sync with no power source connected.

Then came the stillness — like the city had taken one last breath before it caved in on itself.

[SCIENTIST LOG — EXCERPT 001]

“He didn’t walk into Cascade.

He bent it.

People didn’t run. They froze — mid-step, mid-sentence.

One woman was pouring coffee. She’s still standing there.

The coffee isn’t.

It’s been in midair for two days.”

“This is no longer a Kaiju outbreak.

This is a psychic genocide.”

EXPANDING]

1. DREAM SKEWER

  • Victims fall asleep in real-time. Standing. Cooking. Driving.

  • Eye movement rapid. Brainwaves record two timelines.

2. GUILT PROJECTION

  • Emotional group regression.

  • Residents turn on each other, screaming forgotten arguments and confessions no one should’ve known.

3. MEMORY RESIDUE

  • Surfaces replay historical trauma.

  • 1996 church shooting. 2013 overdose. 2020 protest.

  • The sidewalk becomes a screen. The walls bleed names.

4. MIRROR BLEED

  • Reflections show alternate versions of the viewer — often injured, addicted, or already dead.

  • Reports say some were smiling.

[SURVIVOR STATEMENT – UNVERIFIED]

“I thought it was my uncle talking to me.

Until I remembered he died when I was ten.

But that voice knew things only I knew.

And when I looked again —

it was me.”

Two others match the radiation pattern.

One is dormant in a desert.

The other?

I think it’s already listening.”

[FINAL OBSERVATION]

Cascade didn’t explode. It folded in on itself.

Like a memory being forgotten on purpose.

Shinkuro doesn’t destroy.

He reminds.

And what he’s reminding us of… is killing people.

[NEXT EPISODE TAG – FILE PENDING DECLASSIFICATION]

Survivor testimony suggests Shinkuro may no longer be alone.
