The Rift was tearing itself apart. The race was chaos. But Nyx saw something no one else did.
A road.
Not part of the Dead Run. Not part of the race. Something else.
It cut through the storm, untouched by the chaos.
It shimmered with a strange glow—like it wasn’t real, but wasn’t a trick.
It led somewhere else. Somewhere impossible.
She barely had time to think. Her instincts screamed to turn back.
But the Element disagreed.
The engine roared. The car moved on its own.
Nyx had a choice—fight it or let go.
She let go.
The Moment She Lost Control
The Element took over.

It weaved through the collapsing roads, dodging Rift shockwaves like it knew what was coming. It wasn’t just reacting—it was leading.
Nyx felt the hum of the engine in her bones. It wasn’t just running—it was alive.
And then—white light.
The neon storm around her shattered, and for the briefest moment, the race was gone.
And she saw them.
Axel. Her brother. Standing in the middle of the road.
Her mentor, the one who gave her the Element, staring at her with cold, dead eyes.
A third figure—a racer she had never seen before, reaching out. Mouth moving. Screaming.
She couldn’t hear them. The Element’s engine drowned them out.
But she saw it.
💀 The fear in their eyes. 💀
Then, the world snapped back.
She was back in the race. The Element was still moving. But her hands weren’t on the wheel.
And then—blackout.
Before the Rift: Bo & Sav’s Last Night in the Real World
A parking lot full of JDM legends. A sea of headlights reflecting off deep metallic paint jobs, polished rims, and roaring engines.
Bo’s RX-7 was the centerpiece. The deep midnight blue paint shimmered under the neon lights, fresh from its last wax. The crowd gathered around, murmuring in admiration.
And then—the announcement.
“And the winner for Best Paint Job—Bo!”
Sav laughed, wrapping her arms around him as the crowd erupted in cheers.
“See?” she teased. “Told you that midnight blue was the right choice.”
Bo grinned, running a hand over the hood. This was his dream. Their dream.
Then—the first crack.
The ground trembled beneath them. The streetlights flickered. The air felt… wrong.
Engines stalled. Headlights cut out. The sky overhead twisted, neon bleeding into darkness.
Sav’s grip on Bo’s arm tightened. “Bo… do you hear that?”
A low hum, deep and guttural, vibrating through the pavement.
And then—
The world split open.
Bo had only a second to react—he shoved Sav into the RX-7, dived into the driver’s seat—
And the Rift swallowed them whole.
Meanwhile: The Road That Wasn’t a Road
Bo woke up first. The hum of an engine thrummed beneath him. His hands were on the wheel. But something was wrong.

💀 This wasn’t his RX-7. 💀
The paint was duller, worn, scarred with marks that weren’t his. The custom decals? Gone. The midnight blue? Faded like an old memory.
Then—Sav gasped.
She was in the passenger seat. She was breathing. She was alive. But—
The backseat was empty.
The baby was gone.
Sav’s voice cracked. “Where is he?”
Bo didn’t have an answer.
But he didn’t have time to look for one.
The road ahead wasn’t a highway anymore.
It wasn’t asphalt. It wasn’t concrete. It wasn’t real.
💀 It pulsed. Shifted. Twisted like living metal.
💀 The lane markers flickered—sometimes they were white, sometimes they were veins of glowing blue.
💀 The horizon wasn’t the sky—it was a wall of shifting shadows.
Sav dug her nails into the seat. “Bo… where the hell are we?”
Then, the car jolted—like something had grabbed its tires.
Bo slammed the brakes—but they didn’t work.
The wheel was changing.
His fingers sank into it, like the car was pulling him in.
The gauges flickered, symbols appearing that he didn’t recognize.
The RX-7 wasn’t his anymore.
Sav reached for him, eyes wide—then everything went black.

To Be Continued.
The Dead Run Has Changed.
💀 Nyx saw a road that shouldn’t exist.
💀 Bo and Sav lost everything in the blink of an eye.
💀 Something has shifted. And the Rift isn’t done taking.
