At FaceThyFear, we believe every journey is worth sharing—especially when it inspires courage, resilience, and a deep connection to the world around us. Today, we’re honored to feature my good friend, CJ Richards, whose adventures in nature and personal growth reflect the spirit of facing fears and embracing life.
I met CJ during a pivotal time in my life, in Nashville, Tennessee. From the moment we connected, CJ’s love for the outdoors and his drive to overcome obstacles left a lasting impression. His passion for hiking isn’t just about reaching new heights—it’s about finding meaning and learning lessons along the way.
CJ’s adventures have taken him to some of the most awe-inspiring places across the country. He’s explored the rugged beauty of Kendall Katwalk in King County, Washington, walked through the serene landscapes of Spray Park in Mount Rainier National Park, and stood on the cliffs of Lone Rock Point in Burlington, Vermont. Each destination has reminded him of life’s boundless possibilities and the strength it takes to keep moving forward.
When asked what drives him, CJ shared, “Nature reminds me of my place in the world. Every trail teaches me something new about myself and how to push forward, even when things get tough.” His words reflect the power of stepping outside your comfort zone and connecting with the natural world to find clarity.
CJ’s story reminds us that life, much like hiking, has peaks and valleys. There are easy moments when the path is clear, and hard ones where every step feels impossible. But it’s in those challenging moments where growth happens—where we find the courage to keep climbing.
To anyone feeling stuck or overwhelmed, CJ offers this advice: “Start small. Take one step, then another. You don’t have to conquer
the mountain all at once. Just keep moving.”
We’re proud to highlight CJ’s journey because it embodies what FaceThyFear is all about: embracing life’s challenges, finding strength in unexpected places, and connecting with the world around you.
Check out some of CJ’s incredible travel photos and let his story inspire you to explore your own journey of resilience and discovery.
