What Does It Mean to Be in Recovery?
At FTF, we believe recovery is a war—and not everyone survives it.
But if you’re still breathing, you’ve got another shot. That’s recovery.
Recovery ain’t just being sober.
It’s facing your demons.
It’s choosing truth over trauma.
It’s doing the inner work, every damn day.
It’s rebuilding from nothing.
Learning how to pray again.
Learning how to breathe without something artificial keeping you afloat.
It’s choosing life after you’ve flirted with death.
Recovery is a spiritual discipline.
And around here, we call that FTF living.
How Can You Tell Someone’s in Recovery?
You don’t always see it.
But at FTF, we recognize the spirit.
We see it in the quiet ones who don’t brag, they build.
We see it in the broken ones who still serve others.
We see it in the ones who hit meetings like church and talk about God like survival.
We see it in the eyes. In the stillness. In the fire that didn’t die out.
FTF recognizes real.
We don’t care how far you’ve fallen—we care how hard you’re climbing now.
“Aren’t They Just Drug Addicts Who Made Bad Life Decisions?”
That’s what the world says.
FTF says: Hell no.
Addiction is a symptom. Pain is the root.
We used to numb, because we didn’t know how to feel.
We used to run, because we didn’t know how to face it.
We made mistakes. But we also made a comeback.
And we made that comeback with intention.
Being in recovery doesn’t make you weak.
It makes you dangerous in the best way.
Because now you’ve seen hell, and you still chose heaven.
So What Does It Look Like to Function in Recovery?
At FTF, it looks like this:
You show up. Even when you’re tired.
You pray up. Even when you feel dry.
You take inventory, speak truth, and don’t glamorize the past.
It’s one step at a time.
One meeting at a time.
One honest moment at a time.
Recovery is freedom.
It’s no longer being owned by the very thing you thought you controlled.
Why I Wear This FTF Chain
This chain ain’t about flash.
It’s a declaration. A testimony.
This is my recovery medal.
This is proof that I didn’t fold.
That I faced every demon that wanted me dead—and I lived.
FTF stands for FaceThyFear—and I live that.
Every letter is soaked in blood, sweat, prayer, relapse, surrender, and resilience.
Face the truth
Trust the process
Forgive yourself and rise again
When I wear this chain, I’m wearing everything I survived.
Yes, I’m a Recovering Drug Addict. And I’m Still More Free Than Most.
You see an addict? I see a soldier.
You see someone broken? I see someone reborn.
You see a past? I see a path.
Because the ones in recovery—true recovery—we don’t need to prove anything.
We’ve already proven we can live again.
So don’t pity us. Don’t doubt us.
Respect the journey.
Face yours too.
FTF Manifesto:
Recovery is a revolution. FTF is the uniform.
If you’re ready to rebuild, to face your fear, and to walk in raw truth—you’re already part of this movement.
Join the Movement. Rep the Chain. Tell the Truth.

This is for the ones who didn’t die in their addiction. This is for the ones still crawling back. This is for the ones we lost.
